POSITION SUMMARY
Seeking Storage Administrator with Windows administration background to join
a team responsible for managing storage, backups and file services.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 5+ years as a System Administrator with 2+ years of focused storage
administration experience.
• Solid SAN administration skills are required. Experience with Cisco and
Brocade FC switches preferred.
• Experience with Emulex HBAs
• Strong knowledge of Veritas NetBackup.
• Knowledge of Veritas products including Volume Manager, Volume Replicator
and Storage Foundation for Windows or other data replication techniques.
• Experience maintaining a Windows server environment is required.
• Basic UNIX administration skills helpful.
• Ability to work in a 24 x 7 team environment carrying a pager.
• Knowledge of Hitachi 9900 and 99xx storage arrays.
• Familiarity with FDA and SOX regulations relating to computer systems a
plus.
• Familiarity with ITIL framework a plus.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work as part of a team maintaining the storage environment including
Storage Area Networks (SAN), Windows fileservers, UNIX fileservers, and
Network Appliance (NetApp) filers.
• Play a lead role in architecting and designing an efficient backup
environment with Veritas NetBackup.
• Interact with user groups to meet their storage, file serving and
backup/recovery needs.
• Install, configure and manage Hitachi 9200 and 99xx storage arrays.
Interact with Windows Administrators and Unix Administrators for coordinated
results.
• Manage migration and consolidation of Windows and UNIX fileservers to
NetApp filers.
• Analyze and resolve problems associated with SANs, Windows file servers,
NetApps, and disk arrays.
• Operational responsibility for managing trouble tickets as necessary.
• Willing to carry a pager.
