OK, I've watched enough of the messages about this go by that I can
no longer hold back my curiosity. If I'm prying it's fair if you want to
tell me to mind by own business.

Why is this important to you to get a job that requires a security
clearance?
I've been pondering this for a while and the best I can come up with is
this:

"Top Ten Reasons to Get a Job with That Requires a Security Clearance"

 10. No reason, just inexplicably driven to know other people's secrets.
   9. Enjoy taking lie detector tests.
   8. The people I hang out with will think it's cool.
   7. A good way to impress a date.
    6. When I say "I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you", I'd
really
       mean it.
   5. Rather than explaining job to mom, can just say "Sorry,
       it's classified"
   4. Great excuse to start wearing that old pashtooni tee-shirt that says
       "Don't shoot, I know secrets".
   3. Not only a source of illicit source of extra income, but also a
thrilling
opportunity to interact with foreign nationals.
   2. Tired of getting snubbed by Donald Rumsfeld at cocktail parties.
   1. Can't stand living for another day without really know what's going
       on at Area 51.

OK, I jest. But I really would like to know why?
