*POSITION SUMMARY*:



The Database Administrator/Analyst will maintain Electronic Medical Record
systems that directly affect the quality of people’s healthcare and must be
willing to do what is necessary to ensure an acceptable level of performance
and availability for our physician customers.  The Database
Administrator/Analyst will maintain documentation, follow the principles of
change management and vigorous testing before applying production changes
and then only after these changes have been reviewed and approved by
management and peers.  The Database Administrator/Analyst will alert the
team immediately about issues as they arise, prioritize problems and tasks
and maintain and excellent level of communication regarding work
schedules.The DbAA will also be responsible for level II helpdesk tickets as
assigned.



The Database Administrator/Analyst must have a strong team-oriented skill
set, must be self-motivated and have excellent oral and written
communications. Pays attention to detail, accomplished in customer service
with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment are
essential. Must be willing to carry a pager and be accessible during off
hours for system upgrades and problem resolution.



*PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:*

§  Support an Electronic Medical Records Application, eClinicalWorks, in a
7x24x365 operation.

§  Maintain/edit nightly database backup scripts in a timely manner.

§  Setup and maintain application development/test environments.

§  Enure all systems related documentation is maintained properly.

§  Write and follow procedures and process documentation.

§  Perform database installation, upgrade, patch, configuration,
backup/restore and maintenance.

§  Provide testing and performance tuning support.

§  Monitor database environments including backups, performance and
replication.

§  Develop scripts to automate routine and repetitive database
administration tasks where applicable..

§  Provide Level II & III Helpdesk support.

§  Work as a team member with staff.

§  Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed,
stored or accessed via the company’s network.

§  Performs other duties as assigned

*SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:*

* *

   1. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, computer science, or a
   computer related field or the equivalent professional work experience or
   technical training.
   2. Minimum of 2-3 years technology experience supporting an enterprise
   level database oriented application.  (preferably an EMR, such as
   eClinicalWorks).
   3. Fluent in SQL and familiar with database design principles.
   4. Experience working with MySQL and MSSQL.
   5. Experience working with Apache Tomcat and IIS web servers.
   6. Adept in performance monitoring and tuning.
   7. Working knowledge of system administration principles such as
   designing for scalability reliability, performance, security and
   maintenance.
   8. Working knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language,
   examples include Perl, VBS, or PowerShell.
   9. Working knowledge of Windows Server 2003 or 2008 and Active Directory.
   10. Knowledge of VMWare (ESX), FTP, SharePoint Administration,
   eClinicalWorks,  WhatsUPGOLD, Subversion or Citrix is desirable.
   11. Superior written and verbal communication skills.
   12. Excellent computer skills a must.
   13. Excellent customer service skills required.
   14. Proven track record of responsibility for various assigned projects
   and tasks.
   15. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
   16. Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.

   1. Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing, with or without reasonable

   hands and arms.
   5. Ability to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking,
   standing or crouching.
   6. Ability to learn and carry out the primary responsibilities of the
   assigned position.
   7. Ability to effectively communicate in writing and orally on job
   progress and other assignments and responsibilities.
   8. Ability to conceive and articulate plans, create and manage detailed
   projects, organize and prioritize work.

Ability to analyze data and exercise sound judgment in making decisions and
managing confidential or sensitive information.
