senior position, but we are also looking for less senior Sysadmins.

Are you a Senior Systems Engineer looking to step into a lead role 
designing and implementing a solid, secure and scalable service 
infrastructure? We are recruiting a senior technical leader to the Unica 
Technical Operations team This is a hands-on role, requiring a strong 
technical lead who is experienced in the design and deployment of 
effective Service Infrastructures.

This person will represent the Technical Operations in the planning and 
design of next generation services. This person will be responsible 
design decisions affecting the overall Service Infrastructure 
architecture, including the designs around Server Hardware, Database 
infrastructure and design, Storage hardware, Management and Automation 
tooling, Data Center deployment, Systems Security as well as the 
management processes used by the team. This person will assume a 
leadership role in cross organizational service design and planning 
processes. This person should have demonstrated expertise in Systems 
Infrastructure Design.

Requirements

¨ 8-10 years professional experience in Information Technology, 
preferably in an Internet facing production service environment. 
Technical Degree (CS/EE) preferred

¨ Solid integration engineering background designing distributed system, 
Database and Storage infrastructure. Experience designing Virtualized 
environments and experience with Network Engineering is a plus.

¨ Demonstrated expertise troubleshooting and solving complicated 
distributed system and storage issues

¨ Ability to manage change and mitigate risk in a highly dynamic 24/7 
distributed n-tier environment

¨ Demonstrated ability to lead teams in collaborate projects

¨ Solid and demonstrated ability to design, implement and maintain 
scalable distributed operating systems, RHEL preferred

¨ Experience with SAN storage design and implementation

- Strong understanding of Database management, troubleshooting, 
monitoring and tuning.

¨ Experience automating configuration management systems (cfengine,puppet)

¨ Hands-on experience with very large scale web services, Apache preferred

¨ Experience with backup and recovery systems

¨ Working knowledge of Network Security

¨ Strong working knowledge of virtualization platforms, VMware preferred

¨ Strong abilities to develop and deploy automated systems to monitor 
and manage environments. Scripting skills (Shell, Python, Perl), 
Experience with RT, Nagios, Cacti or other FOSS tools.

¨ Excellent organization and problem solving skills

¨ Ability to work across all Service Delivery organizations and provide 
technical leadership enterprise wide.

¨ Excellent verbal, written, and oral communications skills

¨ A pragmatic outlook and good sense of humor a plus
