Hi everyone,

We have several IT positions open at TripAdvisor now that I'd like to
share. The first two are on my team and the third is on our livesite
ops team. Please don't hesitate to contact me directly about these.

Systems Administrator (Corporate IT)
---------------------------------------

TripAdvisor is looking for a senior-level Systems Administrator who will
join a team of two systems administrators to support, maintain, and
enhance a rapidly growing IT infrastructure that spans cross the globe
and serves over 350 employees worldwide.

We are not your typical Windows / Active Directory / Exchange shop. Our
servers are primarily Linux (CentOS) with a handful running Windows. We
tend to prefer open solutions that we can take off the shelf and adapt
to our needs, but we are not wedded to a particular OS or vendor. We aim
for the solution that makes the most sense. We utilize Zimbra for mail,
Asterisk for telephony, OpenLDAP instead of Active Directory, and Samba
for our domain controllers and file sharing—all on Linux servers.

To be successful in this role you will:
- Have strong troubleshooting skills and a diagnostic intuition
- Be a self-starter. If you don’t know how to do something you consider
it a challenge to try to figure it out for yourself
- Have a genuine desire to learn and expand your skill set

You will have demonstrated experience with:
- Linux systems administration (especially Red Hat variants)
- Basic Windows systems administration
- Scripting (especially perl and bash)
- Networking Fundamentals (understanding how networks work)

We highly desire experience with:
- Samba
- OpenLDAP
- Mail Server Administration / Zimbra
- Server Virtualization
- Cisco ASA, PIX, and IOS
- Storage / SAN

This is an opportunity to play a key part in the growth and expansion of
the TripAdvisor IT infrastructure which is continuing to expand globally.

Lead Desktop Support Technician
-------------------------------------

TripAdvisor is looking for a Lead Desktop Support Technician to join a
team of three who support over 350 employees globally.

The Desktop Support Team provides support (hardware and software) to our
employees based in our Massachusetts, New York, and London offices as
well as employees located in other remote locations.

This opportunity will allow you to have a direct impact on the vision
and direction of the Desktop Support Team.

To be successful in this role you must have:
- A solid understanding of Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X with top-notch
troubleshooting skills and a diagnostic intuition.
- A strong customer focus and a constant drive to improve the support
experience of our employees and to improve internal processes: "How can
I make things better?"
- Initiative and problem solving skills: If you don’t know how to do
something you consider it a challenge to try to figure it out for yourself.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- The ability to balance multiple priorities and projects.

Previous experience mentoring or leading a team in an environment
supporting several hundred users would be preferable.

Duties and responsibilities of this position include:
- Participate in and oversee the helpdesk.
- Provide mentoring to other technicians in technical skills and service
delivery
- Participate in the hiring process to grow the team.
- Work on plans to develop and evolve the team and its processes to
continually improve and enhance the customer experience.
- Track team metrics.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software and deliver top-notch support to
employees.
- Develop and implement training programs to increase technical
awareness and knowledge transfer to the company as a whole.

------------------------------------------------------------------

team? Interested in taking your own projects from inception to launch
rather than being spoon-fed boring projects from a non-technical manager?
Interested in new technology, and have a passion to take on new
challenges and responsibilities? TripAdvisor is seeking a mid-level and
senior-level Systems Administrator to join a two person technical

development systems and networks.

Responsibilities:
- Hardware build-outs to support the continued growth of the TripAdvisor
production and development environments
- Network management
- Part of a 24x7 emergency response team
- Monitoring/trending of production and development systems and network
