The SiteSpect Implementation Engineer is responsible for working with customers in both pre- and post-sales context as a
"technical product expert" who can configure and maintain the SiteSpect software solution.  This is a technical position that
requires knowledge of web systems architecture, Unix/Linux systems management, networking, DNS, and HTTP protocols.  Ideal
candidates will possess software development skills (e.g. shell/interpreted languages) and be able to contribute to ongoing
development of tools for installation/build management and system monitoring.  Responsibilities also include light on-call duty
to assist with both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.  
 
NOTE: this is a customer-facing role that requires excellent communication skills.
 
Candidates should be able to demonstrate a history of applying consultative/diagnostic approaches to working with both technical
(IT) and non-technical (business/marketing) customers to unearth, plan for, and ultimately deliver web technology solutions.  In
pre-sales capacity, the Implementation Engineer will be called upon as a technical product expert ("sales engineer") to assist
with preparation for demonstrations and pilots.
 
Desired business/professional skills include:
 
- Consulting/service experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in both pre- and post-sales situations
- Flexibility for light on-call duty and minimal travel
 
Desired technical skills include:
 
- Linux/Unix administration
- Shell scripting such as bash, Perl, python or PHP
- Knowledge of DNS, networking and load balancing
- Database configuration, tuning & administration
- Web server configuration, tuning & administration
- General knowledge of Intel hardware specs/issues/maintenance
 
This position is located in the metro Boston, MA area.
