Hi, the USENIX Annual Technical Conference 2012 is just around the
corner: June 13-15 in Boston. As always: the quality of the program
is excellent: we had a record number of submissions this year (230!),
and accepted 41 amazing papers for presentation. This year’s program
has an emphasis on distributed systems, with over a quarter of the
papers on that topic. Of course, the program also spans
the breadth of computer systems’ research, from security to
programming languages to networking to virtualization. Papers
include:
- netmap: A novel framework for fast packet I/O
- Software Techniques for Avoiding Hardware Virtualization Exits
- Erasure Coding in Windows Azure Storage

And, as always: there are USENIX’s world-famous Birds-of-a-Feather
Sessions and Hallway Track where you can rub elbows with leaders in
multiple disciplines: the USENIX Annual Technical Conference is being
held concurrently with:
- Web Application Development (WebApps’12),
- Hot Topics in Cloud Computing (HotCloud’12),
- The Women in Advanced Computing Summit (WiAC’12),
- The USENIX Configuration Management Workshop (UCMS’12),
- Hot Topics in Cyberlaw (Cyberlaw’12),
- Hot Topics in Storage and File Systems (HotStorage’12),
- The Workshop on the Theory and Practice of Provenance (TaPP '12), and
- The USENIX/ACM Workshop on Networked Systems for Developing Regions (NSDR’12)

Please tell your colleagues about this unique opportunity to obtain
the latest information on these fascinating subjects. We hope to see
you there!
